Statement: Republican Leadership Should Focus on Children and Young Families, Not Partisan Agenda

Concord, N.H. - Following a report in Concord Monitor over the weekend in which Republican Speaker of the House Shawn Jasper commented on the legislatures' lack of urgency to addressing the challenges facing the Department of Children, Youth, and Families, young Granite State parents Joshua and Jennifer Bordis of Sandown issued the following statement: "As parents of 3 young children, we found it shocking to hear Speaker Jasper use an excuse of being too busy to address the challenges facing DCYF while Republican leadership and Governor have apparently had the time to push through conceal carry and the failed Right-To-Work legislation." "If we want to attract and retain more young families in our state, we need to make it crystal clear that our leaders understand that it is the fundamental responsibility of our society and our state to protect the health, safety, and well-being of our children." "We implore that Republican leadership and Governor Sununu focus on priorities that will ensure that every child has the opportunity to live and grow in a safe environment and help attract and retain more young families like ours in New Hampshire."
